Hayley went to Sion-Manning Roman Catholic Girls’ School in London, and later she took A-levels at the London Oratory School. Despite the separation, Alison and Grant remained in touch, and Hayley would spend summers in the US, but as time passed, she developed a closer relationship with her mother. Hayley’s parents divorced when she was only two years old, and her father returned to the US to pursue his Native American roots, while Hayley and her mother remained in the UK.
